The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia EFZ and AWANA Zambia have extended their partnership to boost children’s discipleship by combining Child and Youth evangelism, Bible teaching, and family engagement, often through local churches, using structured programs, resources (like Bibles), and training leaders to reach kids in diverse settings, including refugee camps and schools, to foster spiritual growth and create future leaders.
Speaking this morning, when AWANA Zambia National Director Pastor Jeff Kantumoya paid a courtesy call on EFZ Executive Director Rev. Allan Kasungami, in his office, Pastor Kantumoya, stated that AWANA offers evangelism and discipleship programs for children aged 2-18 through local churches, utilizing games, songs, and Bible stories.
“These Bible-based interactive activities increase parental involvement and outreach to unreached areas like public schools and communities,” Kantumoya said.
Meanwhile EFZ Executive Director, Rev Allan Kasungami, said in extending the great gains that the two organizations have had in the previous year, the EFZ will among other things focus on equipping evangelical leaders, parents, and children with Bible-based life skills, providing Bibles through the established EFZ resource center, and working with churches to implement programs like Sunday School and integrating faith into daily life for holistic growth.
Last year, through these discipleship efforts, at least 265,000 children were reached with the gospel.
